I am a political economist in the Department of International Politics at City, University of London.

Though the themes of my research are diverse, the connecting thread is to explore how the power of corporations shapes, and is shaped by, capitalism’s manifold crises.

My book Public Debt, Inequality, and Power: The Making of a Modern Debt State was published in 2016 by the University of California Press. An open access (free) pdf of the book can be downloaded here.

Alas, I do not belong to the chihuahua featured in the photo.
